Collaborative spatial idea recording and managing system in AR for overcoming physical limitations of Post-it notes

While the post-it is a great problem-solving tool that is widely used in idea meetings of various fields, using post-its in the physical space is spatially limited, labor-intensive, and difficult to organize and archive. To solve this problem, this study proposes Post-Post-it, a collaborative spatial idea recording and managing system in AR for overcoming the physical limitations of post-its. By investigating related works and conducting formative studies, this study obtained the design goals and ideas of spatial interfaces and interactions. Considering the key findings, this study designed a spatial interface and interaction for post-its consisting of three system elements: post-its, layers, and indicator lines. This study shows that users easily and intuitively use post-its in virtual space by using reality-based interactions.
